Following is the info I received from Catholic Social Services: My birth mother was 14 years old at the time of my birth. She was a slender, petite young teen, 5'2", 110 lbs, with light brown hair, blue eyes, and of German, French, Polish and Scottish ancestry. She was in 9th grade and planned on returning to school. Her main interest was music. Her mother had died of cancer at age 40 when my birthmom was 12 years old. Her father worked in a factory and she helped keep house following her mother's death. My birthfather was 16 years old, 5' 10", 150 lbs, with red hair and brown eyes. He was in 10th grade and was of Polish, French and German ancestry. He ran track. His father died suddenly from a fatal heart attack at age 40. He is one of 5 children. My birthparents had known each other over the years as their families were friends. Both were Catholic, and I was adopted through Catholic Social Services of Oakland County. I turned 40 this year and am interested in trying to meet the wonderful people who brought me into this world. Comments: This is an update from a previous post. I was able to contact the mother and we shared some details and thoughts. She is a wonderful person who still has much love in her heart for the child we had to give up.At the age of 17 I had been in a relationship for four years with a wonderful girl. This relationship was full of love. Unfortunately we were not always the most responsible with it came to controlling ourselves. After we discovered that she was pregnant, our families discouraged us from seeing each other, and the tension on both sides kept growing a distance in our relationship. During the final few months of her pregnancy we hardly saw each other. Not because we didn’t want to, but it wasn’t “done that way”. It was a tumultuous start in life, but both of us wanted what was best. My daughter was born at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA. on May 13, 1978. Mothers maiden name was Hepler. Fathers name is Stackhouse. The parents and the attorney were given a letter from the mother. It was asked that if she ever had questions or the desire to seek, then she should be given the letter. Since then both of us have moved away and if there was a search, we may not have been found. I will post on every website that I can find. I will also submit all the paperwork to allow her to find me if she is searching. It know it is not a lot of information to go on, but maybe someone will recognize the dates or names and have more to share.And if she is searching, she needs to know that I always hold her in my heart and she has six brothers that would love to meet her.
